Biking

Nothing compares to the feeling of the wind in your hair and the sun on your face; especially after a long winter. It’s time to take the bikes out of their hibernation this winter and go out for a ride. There are many benefits to riding a bike which is why it’s easy to add this to your list of outdoor activities!

Biking around your neighborhood and/or to work produces endorphins that will provide a sense of wellbeing to power you through your day. Biking also strengthens the muscles in your thighs, buttocks, and your hips. This strengthening effect makes biking more than just a cardio workout.

Since biking is more of a low impact activity (especially compared to running), people with back and knee pain often find relief from these problems when biking as opposed to other types of cardio.

Riding your bike to work or school will not only help you get in shape and shed some extra pounds, it will also help save money on gas!
