Fruit is often excluded from diets do to their high carbohydrate content. Although some fruits are high in carbohydrates eating fruit in moderation can fit into a healthy lifestyle. Many fruits are in season during the summer, and many of these can be included in moderation.

Some low carbohydrate fruit include watermelon, berries, peaches, and cantaloupes. These are also high in vitamins and antioxidants. All these fruits are in season during the summer. Fruits are also a way to satisfy a sweet tooth without breaking the calorie bank.

Although these fruits can be healthy, eating too many could deter you from your weight loss goals. Try to limit your fruit intake to 1-2 servings per day. Try mixing it up by making a fruit salad. You could eat a serving of fruit salad with a handful of nuts for an afternoon snack or grab a small peach after dinner.
